On the eve of a magical “blood moon,” Omnidawn Publishing telephoned with the news that my short manuscript, Our Lives Became Unmanageable, had been selected for the publisher’s Fabulist Fiction Prize.

The chapbook weaves a series of surreal tales narrated by characters who struggle with bizarre compulsions: an artist tries to sculpt clouds, an old man loses his gravity, and, yes, a werewolf is powerless against the moon.

Omnidawn will publish Our Lives Became Unmanageable in November 2016.

UPDATE:  Our Lives Became Unmanageable is now available. Learn more.
