Our
guide promised us a ghost. With high, excited giggles, we fumbled up
slick stone steps. The night was wet and moonless and smelled faintly
of mushrooms. Suddenly, a wrought iron gate creaked open and out leaped
- Aieeeeee!
A goblin galloped toward us. Or - was it a horse? All nose and tail, the creature was a pony-sized schnauzer, eager to welcome us to Castle Pergine. According to legend, the castle is haunted by a woman who loved the place so passionately, her white-robed spirit still hovers there. She drifts through medieval corridors, bobs along the wood beamed ceilings like a party balloon, and materializes in the bedchambers of unwitting tourists... To order features, Send your request. |
